“Developing our club talent to the best of their abilities”

We are thrilled to announce the launching the Epping Upper Clapton RFC Rugby Academy, as a sign of our commitment to player and coach development pathways. Our Academy work will cover the youngest players at the club, from under 6s, through to the top end of our age grade with our U18 Colts, this work will include both boys and girls teams and coaches.
The Academy is overseen by Head of Playing Marcus Tobin and Youth & Mini Charman Paul Crabb and looks to provide support, guidance and development opportunities for everyone involved with the game at Youth and Mini level at EUCRFC. During the off season a lot of work has gone into the creation of the Academy concept, and we look forward to putting this work into action throughout pre-season and the forthcoming season.
EUCRFC is an amateur community club with big ambitions, firmly rooted in the development of young players who are the future of our club for years to come. We believe that the work of the Academy will help our club continue to grow and have success both on the field, and as a vibrant hub at the centre of our community.
Head of Playing Marcus Tobin said: “The launching of the EUCRFC Rugby Academy is an exciting concept that gives both players and coaches within all Age Grades further development opportunities, and therefore build on the excellent work already being carried out by the respective Age Grades throughout the club.
The EUCRFC’s Academy’s aim is to maximise the potential of all boys and girls playing within the Youth and Mini, and Colts environments, both in terms of players and people throughout their rugby experiences at EUCRFC
This in turn will positively assist in a player’s eventual transition into senior rugby, and encourage players to continue playing at EUCRFC at the level that matches their skill and commitment, and therefore have an enjoyable and enriching experience both on and off the field for many years.
I firmly believe we are building a club of great strength and quality from the bottom up which in turn will help our senior teams keep performing at high levels for years to come.
We would like to thank Simon and Zuhal Tobin at Tobin Plant for their generous support and sponsorship of the EUCRFC Academy initiative”
